The two most important things for fast progress on guitar are a dedicated teacher and playing consistently. As teachers our job is to give you the tools to make every minute of that time count and help you stay consistent.
As we developed Guitar Kickstart we benchmarked ourselves around four key factors that we believe are essential to your progress and we combined these to give us a F.A.S.T. Score vs the other traditional methods.
Fun
Having fun by itself isn't going to do the trick obviously, but it's a huge boost to staying motivated and consistent.
Your private lesson may be fun but at all but the best music schools you're then on your own for the rest of the week. And traditional guitar courses aren't a whole lot better.
We've added every little (and big) thing we can think of to keep things fresh and motivating for you.
Accountability
And not in a mean "we'll hold you to account" sort of way 😇
Let's say you decide to get fit and you enjoy the gym but with everything else going on , you often miss. What if you had your own personal trainer there waiting for you AND some friends going along?
The combined effect of being accountable to yourself, to your teacher and some friends who all have the same goals (your progress) is very powerful and we've built that into Guitar Kickstart like no other online program has.
Structure & Support
The key benefit of learning from a teacher or via an online course is structure. Assuming you choose wisely that is.
A good teacher will not ask you "so what should we cover today?" and that famous online course site with 100 teachers + 10,000 lessons and 500,000 students isn't going to offer you the structure or the support you need as a beginner either.
"Support" means different things to different people , but to us it means having access to personal help from your own teacher when you need it. Not just once a week at a private lesson and not during a weekly or monthly Zoom call with hundreds of others and a teacher who wouldn't know you from a bar of soap.

Technology
None of the legends of guitar had access to any tech so why should you need it? Unlike them you don't have the luxury of learning and playing all day , am I right?
The last few years have seen great advances and we'd be crazy not to take full advantage. It's now realistic to get the absolute best out of the time you have without leaving home. For us this has been a part of our DNA since the founding of The Guitar Dojo (music school) in 2018.
Within a year of opening we were referenced in Tech Guide as an example of innovative tech being used in guitar teaching. The COVID period then saw us expand on this further during lockdown and that whole experience planted the seeds that has led to the arrival of our fully online program Guitar Kickstart.
